WHAT DOES HILL COLLEGE COUNSELING DO?
We empower students to create their strongest college admissions package by providing support in essay writing, resume development, course selection, advice on target colleges, evidence-based strategies and leveraging our extensive experience and knowledge as educators in this field.
WHAT GRADE LEVELS DO YOU WORK WITH?
Students in grades 9-12 are candidates for college admissions coaching. Starting early is key to a well-paced, less stressful application process. By beginning in 9th grade, students can prepare for academic hurdles, take advantage of opportunities for growth, and seek leadership positions starting from the beginning of the student’s high school career. That being said, we ensure all of our students complete the admissions process with required milestones no matter when they come to us.
WHO IS AN IDEAL STUDENT FOR HILL COLLEGE COUNSELING STUDENT?
We only work with students willing to commit the time and effort required to rise to the standard of excellence required of this process. There are assignments and milestones in place to ensure that students have a realistic pacing to manage this intricate process. We coach and support students while holding them accountable throughout the process.
WHY IS THERE A SCREENING CONSULTATION?
Our admissions support depends upon factors and information gathered during this consultation to provide accurate advice. We leverage the student information provided to provide an honest, comprehensive answer to questions that students and families may have. Otherwise, we are not equipped to provide guidance.
Also during that session, families are introduced to the Hill College Counseling expectations and introduced to our admissions approach. Families can ask questions and ensure that the collaborative nature of the program and review the work requirements of the program.
WHERE DO YOUR STUDENTS LIVE?
Yes. Hill College Counseling works with families globally. All engagements are conducted remotely, which means geography is never a barrier to working together.
DO YOU HELP WITH COLLEGE ESSAYS?
Yes- essay coaching is a core part of every engagement. We work with students through every draft of every essay, providing detailed feedback and strategic direction. We do not write essays on a student's behalf. The story must be theirs. Our role is to help them tell it as compellingly as possible.
CAN YOU GUARANTEE COLLEGE ENTRANCE?
No- and any consultant who makes that claim is operating unethically. What we can tell you is that 100% of our students have been accepted by at least two of their top three schools. Our results speak to the quality of the work. We will not make promises we cannot keep.
HOW MANY FAMILIES DO YOU WORK WITH EACH YEAR?
We intentionally limit our client roster to ensure every student receives Racquel's full attention. Availability is discussed during the strategy consultation. Families interested in working together are encouraged to reach out early - junior and senior year engagements fill first.
