WHAT DOES HILL COLLEGE COUNSELING DO?
We empower students to create their strongest college admissions package by providing support in essay writing, resume development, course selection, advice on target colleges, evidence-based strategies and leveraging our extensive experience and knowledge as educators in this field.
WHAT GRADE LEVELS DO YOU WORK WITH?
Students in grades 9-12 are candidates for college admissions coaching. Starting early is key to a well-paced, less stressful application process. By beginning in 9th grade, students can prepare for academic hurdles, take advantage of opportunities for growth, and seek leadership positions starting from the beginning of the student’s high school career. That being said, we ensure all of our students complete the admissions process with required milestones no matter when they come to us.
WHO IS AN IDEAL STUDENT FOR COACHING?
​We only work with students willing to commit the time and effort required to rise to the standard of excellence required of this process. There are assignments and milestones in place to ensure that students have a realistic pacing to manage this intricate process. We coach and support students while holding them accountable throughout the process.
WHY IS THERE A SCREENING CONSULTATION?
Our admissions support depends upon factors and information gathered during this consultation to provide accurate advice. We leverage the student information provided to provide an honest, comprehensive answer to questions that students and families may have. Otherwise, we are not equipped to provide guidance.

Also during that session, families are introduced to the Hill College Counseling expectations and introduced to our admissions approach. Families can ask questions and ensure that the collaborative nature of the program and review the work requirements of the program.

Our admissions guidance is comprehensive and therefore requires a thorough review of your students' history. ​We do not provide insight or guidance without this. Additionally, we challenge the "prestige at all costs" mindset-- each student is different and our coaching/teaching reflects this.​ Families who ignore academic and social fit for the sake of a college name often compromise students happiness and their ability to thrive.

WHY DO I NEED A CONSULTANT IF MY CHILD'S HIGH SCHOOL HAS A GUIDANCE COUNSELOR?
Recent studies by the United States Department of Education confirmed students receive 38 minutes of personal advising in public high schools and on average, the counselors supports over 450 students at once. Additionally, many public and private high school families hire consultants to maximize their student's admissions chances. Leveraging resources outside of the school building are becoming a necessity to student success especially given the limited stops at the most competitive college programs.

We believe students results speak loudest. Every year, we have students accepted and completing colleges of their dreams.
DO YOU HELP WITH COLLEGE ESSAYS?
Yes! We help to students to write their essays and provide constructive feedback. We do NOT write essays on their behalf. Our various packages are comprehensive with writing support and access to editing. We recognize the heart work that a college essay takes and how hard it can be!
IS IT WORTH HIRING A COLLEGE ADMISSIONS CONSULTANT?
Given the increasing standards and competitive nature of college admissions, the application and enrollment process can be emotional and overwhelming for most students and families.
